Truth about caravan weights and trailer sway!!!

There seems to be a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to trailer sway (aka ‘Death Wobbles’). My family and I have spent the last 8 months travelling our beautiful country. During our time on the road we have sat around many of camp fires and heard stories about this subject. Fortunately, whilst a majority of these stories did have a happy ending, not everyone is so lucky. What I did take away from these conversations was surprisingly the large percentage of people who did not understand why sway happens, with a good portion of people thinking it was normal. TRAILER SWAY IS NOT OK!!!

To address the misinformation out there about trailer sway I would like to introduce you Robert Pepper who has created the fantastic video below explaining/demonstrating the causes (yes there can be more than one) of trailer sway and the importance of weight distribution, whilst also debunking a few myths about trailer sway (SPOILER ALERT!!! adding more tow ball weight is not the magic solution to this issue).
